CSC lands in Nepal
It has been a huge pleasure to have our gap year student, Joe, working with us for the past few months. Joe has done some amazing work for the charity: teaching in several schools, accompanying children to the Global Chess League, helping organise the London Chess Classic at the Emirates Stadium, and running several tournaments across London. We’ve enjoyed having him in the office too - regaling us with his exploits in the London Chess league and teaching us how to use AI to write stories for our website (only kidding - we already knew how to do that).
Joe has now left us to teach English in Nepal for a couple of months. No sooner had he landed in Kathmandu when he came across a FIDE rated chess tournament in Thapathali Park and, on mentioning his work for CSC, was invited to make the ceremonial first move!
We know Joe used up his baggage allowance with chess sets for the school in the Himalayan foothills where he’ll be teaching for the next few weeks. We look forward to hearing how the children get on with their English, and the English Opening.
